Leaving Teglio the next morning, our destination was Silandro, 114km away, but our route was to take us over the Passo dello Stelvia, the second highest paved mountain pass in the Alps and a regular feature in the Giro d'Italia. The first 32km to the first coffee stop was supposed to be easy, but it was anything but and I'm afraid to say that my legs felt like jelly by the time I had covered those 32km and I had to opt for going up the Stelvia with my bike on top of the support car, but still it enabled me to get some photos of the majority that did manage the climb.
Just managed to get a photo of Aaron, who was by far the fastest.
Harold never ceased to amaze!
Sarah rode up with great style.
and the same for Jose and Jo, hiswife.
Mark, one of our guides, made it all look pretty effortless.
Ritchie was strong.

Chris and Ian, did Wagga proud.
Doug was his usual determined self
with Di, his wife, showing what a great athlete she is.
Phil guide cum photographer found himself on the other side of a camera lens.
Kay and John were slowly does it, but did it
Roberta almost did it
and here's a view of what they rode up:
Our hotel that night in Silandro was one of the best we have stayed in so for, deservedly 4 star. We had one casualty, which was Ritchie, who coming off his bike on the descent fractured a rib and put paid to his continuing.
Nice one, Patrick.
